dublab has a project called “vision version” where they pair filmmakers and musicians up to make these live-documents… this video is from a show we played with cluster at farmlab in downtown LA… shot and edited by matt amato… what a gift!!

at “this is not art” in newcastle, australia we led a workshop on playing games, acting out rituals, talking about online gaming, alternate worlds, corporate sponsorship, economics, situationists… all in the interest of figuring out how we use “playing” to solve problems, make things, and get to know eachother and our world a little better. the game we’re playing here i learned from marijke from eats tapes!

wednesday night (august 6th) at 9 pm or so lucky dragons will play on the roof of 1830 sunset blvd (on top of the echo). afterwards there is a screening of a 16mm print of jack smith’s “flaming creatures”.

i have often thought of this as a perfect movie (maybe because its only like 43 minutes long? and tony conrad made the soundtrack? and, according to legend, the only remaining negative of it was buried after it was banned for “total lack of social value”, so all copies of it look like they were filmed in the 1890’s? and it was filmed on a rooftop, and now we watch it on a rooftop?). come see us and then it and then we’ll talk about it all in the night air. it’s good.

on saturday august 9th from 1-8 pm glaciers of nice will be setting up shop at the simple pleasures event at studio number one in los angeles–books, zines, records, cds, prints, pins, stuff we make, it will be there. come see! its FREE and ALL AGES. then at 6:30 lucky dragons play some sounds… also FREE… getting closer to our goal of exclusively playing FREE and ALL AGES shows.

“publish and be damned” is an art book fair, a place for small independent publishers from around the world to show you what they are making… it’s in london, august 3rd… many friends representing–ooga booga! paperback! and through them, many friends represented–glaciersofnice!
